I’m Fara Kaihani, the owner of Kaihani School.
Caring for children has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. As the oldest child in my family, I naturally helped care for and teach my younger siblings, which led me to pursue a career in teaching. After immigrating to the United States, I began working with young children in a home-based daycare, and I’ve been in this field since January 2004.
More than 20 years ago, we began caring for children full-time and built our daycare around values that matter deeply to us: children’s safety and happiness, healthy eating, meaningful time outdoors, and showing kindness and respect to every child and every staff member. These values resonated with many working parents and guardians in our community, and over time our small daycare grew into a close-knit, extended family.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of caring for more than 300 children! I love and nurture each child as if they were my own, and I believe children need a place not just to stay, but to grow into curious, kind, and confident human beings. I still stay in touch with many families and children I cared for years ago. I see them often, go on walks with their parents, and receive visits and kind offers of help from children who are now grown. These lasting relationships remind me why this work matters so much to me.♥️
I believe children are the most valuable souls entrusted to us. We have a responsibility to teach them how to care for themselves and for others: to be kind, patient, respectful, and to share with one another. At the same time, I know that I learn from them just as much as I teach them. Being with children brings me joy, purpose, and constant learning.
Outside of my work, I enjoy walking, gardening, connecting with my online family around the world, and spending time with my daughter, son, and their beautiful families.
